Το Game of Thrones σάρωσε στην 15η Ετήσια εκδήλωση των Visual Effects Society Awards (VES) προχθές το βράδυ, το οποίο "βραβεύει τα εξαιρετικά οπτικά εφέ και την καινοτομία στις ταινίες, τα κινούμενα σχέδια, τις τηλεοπτικές σειρές, τις διαφημίσεις και τα video games."
Η σειρά κέρδισε πέντε βραβεία για το "Battle of the Bastards", το προτελευταίο επεισόδιο της 6ης σεζόν.
Συνολικά, το Game of Thrones ήταν υποψήφιο για 11 βραβεία, περισσότερα από κάθε άλλη τηλεοπτική εκπομπή ή ταινία φέτος. Σε αρκετές περιπτώσεις, αγωνιζόταν ενάντια στον εαυτό του.
